Our team work tirelessly to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable time exploring our slice of paradise. We consider ourselves kaitiaki (caregivers) for our incredible region and welcome you to the best place on earth for outdoor adventures.
Below are the Terms and Conditions that we promise to deliver, and expect from our many wonderful visitors.

Quoted Offerings:
• Quotes are based on planned routes, but may change due to weather, fitness levels, riding ability, or other factors at our discretion. Safety is always our highest priority. 
• Additional shuttle fees may be charged after the tour to cover extra wages or mileage, at Cycles of Life’s discretion (we would disclose this and discuss with you if required)
• Individuals who cancel any tour or activity that proceeds as scheduled are not entitled to a refund for the missed portion
• If weather conditions, fire risks, hunting, trapping, or other hazards require a change in tour location or activities, the lead guide will determine the best alternative based on available information. Always follow instructions and be aware of hazards and risks
• Safety First: Ideally, two or more options will be presented to the group, but the lead guide has full authority to make changes or halt an activity if safety is at risk
• No refunds will be issued for changes to planned tours or activities
Payment & Cancellation Policies: 
• The group leader signs the terms and conditions on behalf of the group and must confirm they have the authority to do so
• Group members must be made aware of the terms and agree to be individually bound by them
• Payments must be made by the group leader, not individuals
• Payments can be made via internet banking or credit card (VISA/Mastercard). A bank surcharge applies to credit card payments. American Express is not accepted
• A deposit of 25% of the total quoted balance is required to confirm any tour package that includes shuttles, accommodation and / or multi-day bike hire
• If a booking is cancelled, the deposit can be transferred to a future booking
• The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days prior to your shuttle or tour commencing
• Failure to make the final payment on time may result in a lost booking - please communicate
• An additional deposit may be required for itineraries including partners such as helicopter companies and other tourism companies, we will communicate these with you upon booking
Pricing
• Prices are subject to seasonal adjustments and cost fluctuations (e.g., fuel, accommodation)
• Once full payment is received, no price changes will apply unless the itinerary is changed
Multi-Day Tour Cancellations
• More than 30 days prior to departure: 90% refund of total amount (excluding any unretrievable costs e.g. accommodation)
• 30 to 14 days prior to departure: 50% refund (excluding any unretrievable costs e.g. accommodation)
• Less than 14 days prior to departure: No refund
• Once the trip has started: No refund
• If cancellation is due to extreme personal circumstances, a substitute group member can take their place for no extra fee
• If you are unable to travel due to illness, we will hold all retrievable funds as credit for a future booking
• Changes to an itinerary after deposit payment will incur a $100 admin fee
Travel Insurance
• Travel insurance is not included in any tour package
• We strongly recommend insurance covering medical costs and travel disruptions
Bike Hire & Liability
• Clients are responsible for loss or damage to hired bikes and equipment, including:
o Bikes and components (e.g. broken derailleur, brake lever, shifter, buckled wheel etc.)
o Helmets (replacement required if damaged in a fall)
o Missing puncture repair kits or components
o E-bike electronics damage, e.g. from water exposure
• Bikes must not be taken through salt water, tidal areas, streams, rivers or estuaries
Inherent Risks & Safety
• Cycling has inherent risks, including illness, rough terrain, falls, poor weather, and collisions
• Clients assume all risks and release the Operator from liability for:
o Personal injury or death
o Property damage or loss
o Acts considered negligent or accidental
o Emotional distress or suffering
Waiver
By participating, clients confirm that:
• They are medically fit for the activity
• They will not sue or hold the Operator liable for injuries or damages
• They consent to medical treatment if required
• They will follow instructions and supervise any children in their care
Transport Delays
• The Operator is not responsible for losses due to weather, vehicle issues, accidental damage to personal items or third-party service delays
Rates & Third-Party Changes
• If third-party providers adjust their rates, these will be passed on to clients
New Zealand Law Applies
• This agreement is governed by New Zealand law
• Visitors should have full medical and travel insurance, as ACC coverage is limited
By booking online, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

We reserve the right to modify or add to these terms at any time

We will do the very best we can to provide a safe and thoroughly enjoyable experience to all our guests. Please provide constructive feedback and refer us to like minded adventurers when you return home.
Kia manuia: The Cycle Nelson whānau

• Based on planned routes; may change due to weather, fitness, or safety factors. Extra shuttle fees may apply if clients request extensions to planned shuttles
Cancellations/Weather:
• No refunds for participant cancellations or tour/activity changes due to hazards. Lead guide decides alternatives with group input.
Payment & Groups:
• Group leader signs and pays for group; members agree to terms. Single payment made via internet banking or credit card (VISA/Mastercard; bank surcharge may apply, Amex not accepted).
Deposits & Balance:
• 25% deposit needed to confirm tours; can be transferred to future booking if cancelled. Final balance due 30 days before tour. Late payment may lose booking. Extra deposits may be needed for partner services.
Pricing:
• Prices may change until full payment. After payment, price is fixed.
Single Day Tour Cancellations:
• 30 days before departure: 90% refund (less unretrievable costs).
• 30–14 days: 50% refund (less unretrievable costs).
• <14 days or after trip start: No refund.
• Substitute group members allowed for extreme personal circumstances at no extra fee.
• Credit offered if unable to travel due to illness (retrievable funds only).
Rescheduling:
• Itinerary changes after deposit paid: $100 admin fee.
Insurance:
• Travel insurance not included; strongly recommended for all clients.
Liability & Bike Hire:
• Clients responsible for loss/damage to bikes, components, helmets, kits, and e-bike electronics. No riding through saltwater areas. All risks accepted; operator not liable for injury, loss, or distress.
Waiver:
• Participation means fitness, waiver of liability, consent to treatment, and child (under 18) supervision at all times by the signing adult 
Transport Delays & Third Parties:
• Operator not liable for delays/losses from weather, vehicle issues, or actions by third parties. Third-party rate changes may be passed on
Legal:
• Governed by NZ law; ACC coverage is limited—full insurance is advised. Booking online confirms agreement with terms as stated. Cycles of Life Ltd. trades as Cycle Nelson; terms may be updated anytime.
